For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation… Romans 1:16

Facts about Planned Parenthood

1. Planned Parenthood isn’t interested in women’s health.

They are only interested in money. Planned Parenthood sees women and they see dollar signs. They don’t care about your health. They only care about the services they can bill for your visit.

2. Planned Parenthood can’t provide the comprehensive health care that you may need.

Their facilities only provide very limited gynecological care. If you have a lump in your breast, they can’t help you. If you have high blood pressure, you are out of luck. Diabetes? No go. Sinus infection? Move along. They can’t help you with the majority of things that you may be looking for. And if they find a problem during your visit, they will have to refer to a health facility that actually can help you. And no, not one Planned Parenthood on the planet provides mammograms.

3. Planned Parenthood is corrupt.

Planned Parenthood has been and continues to be in multiple lawsuits involving fraud. They bill for services they never performed. They over-bill. They use their patients as part of their money making scheme. As my boss always said, “At Planned Parenthood, nonprofit is a tax status, not a business status.”

4. Planned Parenthood is not interested in keeping women safe.

Planned Parenthood recently killed a woman named Tonya Reaves. She went to them for a legal abortion procedure and died. She didn’t have to die, but Planned Parenthood didn’t call an ambulance. They let this woman bleed out on the abortion clinic table for FIVE hours before they finally dialed 911…by that time, it was too late. In states where abortion safety regulations have been raised, Planned Parenthood facilities close. They aren’t interested in making the necessary changes to ensure patient safety. That should show you where their priorities are.

5. Planned Parenthood is unnecessary.

There are more than ten thousand health care facilities across the country that provide health care for low income women. There are less than seven hundred Planned Parenthood facilities. Women don’t need Planned Parenthood for healthcare. We have plenty of other options.

6. Planned Parenthood is always trying to sell abortion.

If you walk into a Planned Parenthood facility and you are pregnant, they will try to convince you to have an abortion. Why? Because they can’t make money off of you if you keep your baby…they don’t provide prenatal care. They can’t make money if you decide to place your baby for adoption. They ONLY make money if you have an abortion. They have been taught how to talk women into having an abortion. “You will never be able to finish school if you have a baby.” “You will be forced to take low paying jobs if you have a baby.” “It’s not even a baby right now. It’s just cells…it doesn’t feel anything.” “It is really hard to be a single parent.” “You better abort so you don’t have to walk this road alone.” They are slicker than used car salesmen. And let’s be honest, it’s not hard to sell an abortion to a woman who is feeling vulnerable. Our motto at Planned Parenthood went like this, “Turn every client visit into a revenue generating visit.” The only way to do that with a pregnant woman is to abort her baby. 7. Planned Parenthood kills hundreds of thousands of babies every year.

It doesn’t matter how much “good” they do. They kill kids…every day…totaling to hundreds of thousands of them. You can’t give them a pass. If I was a good person, but killed 10 people every year, would you fight for my right to stay out of trouble? After all, I do so much good in my community. Of course not! But we aren’t talking about 10 people. We are talking about numbers that our brains can’t even comprehend. Even if you go to a facility that doesn’t provide abortions, you are still giving money to that industry just by being there. If you are complicit in funding Planned Parenthood, then you are complicit in abortion.

8. Planned Parenthood is expensive.

Most Planned Parenthood centers charge over thirty dollars for a pregnancy test…some charge over forty dollars. Their tests are no better than the ones that you can buy at the dollar store. In fact, Planned Parenthood only pays twenty five CENTS for the pregnancy tests they order. AND, you can get a free pregnancy test from any pregnancy resource center. If you are a cash patient, they charge over two hundred dollars for STD testing. That’s not cheap. And if you are a Medicaid patient, they will run and charge for tests that you never even asked for. They will take advantage of you whether the money is coming out of your pocket or the taxpayer’s pockets.

9. Planned Parenthood thinks doctors are unnecessary.

Doctors are only onsite if they are performing abortions. And some Planned Parenthood facilities don’t even have doctors performing abortions! If you go there for an exam, you won’t see a doctor. In fact, there won’t even be a doctor in the building. You deserve better healthcare.

10. Planned Parenthood does not believe in informed consent.

Planned Parenthood HATES when women ask questions. That’s why they so vehemently oppose ultrasound legislation that would give women information about the baby in their womb. It’s the same reason they won’t tell a woman the physical and emotional risks of abortion when they are directly asked. Bottom line, Planned Parenthood thinks women are too STUPID to hear scientific information and make an informed decision. So instead of being honest, they lie over and over again…and their lies are deadly.

11. Planned Parenthood has provided low dose birth control pills, planning for failure and more abortions.

The pills are either received at a PPFA clinic, or PPFA gives out a prescription for the woman to receive them elsewhere.

12.  Planned Parenthood’s founder, Margaret Sanger, Targeted the Elimination of Blacks, Jews, and More.

Here are some quotes attributed to her:
– Referring to immigrants and Catholics, she wrote: “[They’re] an unceasingly spawning class of human beings who never should have been born at all.”
– We don’t want the word to go out that we want to exterminate the Negro population, and the minister is the man who can straighten out that idea if it ever occurs to any of their more rebellious members.”  — Margaret Sanger’s December 19, 1939 letter to Dr. Clarence Gamble, 255 Adams Street, Milton, Massachusetts. Original source: Sophia Smith Collection, Smith College, North Hampton, Massachusetts. Also described in Linda Gordon’s Woman’s Body, Woman’s Right: A Social History of Birth Control in America . New York: Grossman Publishers, 1976.
– “[Slavs, Latin, and Hebrew immigrants are] human weeds … a deadweight of human waste … [Blacks, soldiers, and Jews are a] menace to the race.” — Margaret Sanger, April 1933 Birth Control Review . (source)

Planned Parenthood’s Founder Advocated Mandatory Sterilization
– “Give dysgenic groups [people with ‘bad genes’] in our population their choice of segregation or [compulsory] sterilization. — Margaret Sanger, April 1932 Birth Control Review .

13.  Planned Parenthood has Aided Sex Trafficking.

PPFA has a history of aiding and abetting sex trafficking of girls as young as 14.

14.  Planned Parenthood’s Has Strong Ties to Euthanasia.

There are many ties between The American Birth Control League (which later became Planned Parenthood) and the National Society for the Legalization of Euthanasia.

15.  Planned Parenthood Targets Minorities.

PPFA is willing to accept donations that are earmarked for specific minorities.  Listen to the recordings at the bottom of this article.
President Obama and Senate Democrats are willing to shut down the federal government to ensure tax dollars keep flowing to one of their biggest political allies. Both times President Obama ran for president, Planned Parenthood Action Fund was quick to endorse him as a “champion for women’s health.”  The 2012 election cycle marks only the third time in their history that they endorsed in a presidential election.[i] They poured money into his campaign and churned out volunteers. Imagine the reaction if a Republican president was willing to shut down the government in order to prevent a single organization from sharing one penny in the belt-tightening all Americans are facing.

16.  Planned Parenthood is an independently wealthy entity.

According to its latest annual report, it has over one billion dollars in net assets.[ii] In 2014 alone, data shows that Planned Parenthood’s revenue has exceeded their expenses by over $90 million.[iii]

17. Planned Parenthood is America’s largest abortion provider.

“Roughly one out of every four abortions in America” is carried out in a Planned Parenthood facility. [iv] Data shows that since 1970, Planned Parenthood has performed more than 6 million abortions. [v] In 2013 alone, Planned Parenthood performed a record 357,653 abortions.[vi]

18. Planned Parenthood’s business model is centered on abortion.

Former Planned Parenthood clinic director Abby Johnson has written that she was given an abortion quota, and was even told by her superiors to “double the number of abortions” in order to bring in more revenue.[vii] Abortion patients constitute 12 percent of Planned Parenthood clients — 332,000 of 3 million unduplicated clients in its most current report. 37 percent of all Planned Parenthood clinic income revenue is from abortion procedures, according to conservative estimates. Planned Parenthood has issued a directive instructing that all affiliates must have at least one clinic that performs abortion by 2013.[viii]  According to an NBC news report from December 2012, our of the “74 regional affiliates” a handful of those affiliates chose to leave the organization, rather than comply with the policy. [ix]

19. More taxpayer funding of Planned Parenthood equals more abortions, fewer adoption referrals.

Claims that taxpayer funding of Planned Parenthood results in fewer abortions are false. From 2000 to 2013, taxpayer funding shunted to Planned Parenthood jumped from $202,000,000 in 2000 to $528,400,000 in 2013. In 2000, Planned Parenthood performed 197,070 abortions while making 2,486 adoption referrals. In 2013, they performed 327,653 abortions and made just 1,880 adoption referrals. That means a percent increase in taxpayer funding resulted in a 66 percent increase in the number of abortions and a 61 percent decrease in the number of adoption referrals.[x]

20.  Planned Parenthood is not safe for women and young girls.

Recent undercover footage released by Lila Rose’s Live Action shows Planned Parenthood employees in several states willing to aid and abet in acknowledged human s sex trafficking of girls as young as 14.[xi] The undercover footage resulted in the firing of Amy Woodruff, manager of the Central New Jersey Planned Parenthood clinic.[xii] It also caused Planned Parenthood to call for mandatory training sessions of thousands of its employees across the country on reporting requirements.[xiii]

21.  Planned Parenthood opposes commonsense measures to protect women and underage girls.

Planned Parenthood fought vehemently against clinic regulations in Texas.

“The Supreme Court acted Monday to keep Texas’ 19 abortion clinics open, amid a legal fight that threatens to close more than half of them.  The justices voted 5-4 to grant an emergency appeal from the clinics after a federal appeals court upheld new clinic regulations and refused to keep them on hold while the clinics appealed to the Supreme Court…The court’s decision to block the regulations is a strong indication that the justices will hear the full appeal, which could be the biggest abortion case at the Supreme Court in nearly 25 years.

If the court steps in, the hearing and the eventual ruling would come amid the 2016 presidential campaign.  Chief Justice John Roberts and Justices Samuel Alito, Antonin Scalia and Clarence Thomas would have allowed the state to move ahead with regulations requiring abortion facilities to be constructed like surgical centers. Doctors at all clinics also would be required to have admitting privileges at a local hospital.  The clinics said enforcing the new regulations would lead to a second major wave of clinic closures statewide since the law was enacted in 2013. Texas had 41 abortion clinics in 2012; 19 remain.” [xiv]

22.  Women have other options for seeking primary care, contraception, STI testing, and cancer screening.

According to the Chiaroscuro Foundation, in addition to the tens of thousands of U.S. doctors and hospitals providing this care, there were 1,048 federally qualified health centers in the U.S. which provide women cancer screening,  contraception, and STI testing.[xv]

23.  Planned Parenthood does not provide mammograms and is not a significant primary care provider to women.

Despite claims made by Planned Parenthood CEO Cecile Richards and members of the media, Planned Parenthood does not provide mammograms. They are also not a significant primary care provider in general.  In recent reports, Planned Parenthood acknowledges that it provided primary care only to about 19,700 of its 3 million unduplicated clients. These services have been trending downward for years, from 21,247 in 2007 to 20,235 in 2008, to today’s 19,796.[xvi]

24.  Polling shows Americans don’t believe efforts to defund Planned Parenthood are extreme.

A March 2011 poll conducted by The Hill, before Planned Parenthood became a critical issue in the budget debate, showed that Americans are virtually split in half over whether Planned Parenthood’s funding should be left alone or completely cut. Forty-six percent said it should be left alone; 42 percent said it should be completely cut. The poll has a 3 percent margin of error.[xvii] When asked specifically about taxpayer funding of abortion, polls consistently show a healthy majority of Americans, 60 to 70 percent, oppose their tax dollars funding abortion.[xviii]

25. Planned Parenthood’s founder, Margaret Sanger, was a strong believer in eugenics.

Following is just a sampling of her documented beliefs. “In this matter, the example of the inferior classes, the fertility of the feeble-minded, the mentally defective, the poverty-stricken classes, should not be held up for emulation…”[xix] Referring to immigrants and Catholics, she wrote: “[They’re] an unceasingly spawning class of human beings who never should have been born at all.”[xx] She also wrote, “The most merciful thing that a large family does to one of its infant members is to kill it.”[xxi] Planned Parenthood is carrying on her legacy today, centering itself on population control efforts. In a recently filed tax return, Planned Parenthood stated as part of their mission statement that they are committed to “a U.S. population of stable size in an optimum environment.”[xxii]

26. Planned Parenthood has spent hundreds of thousands of dollars and thousands of hours of employee time in order to protect its government handout.

Planned Parenthood has flooded the airwaves with TV commercials [xxiii] and radio ads[xxiv] in order to protect its funding. Its employees – whose paychecks are subsidized by tax dollars — have participated in bus tours and rallies across the country.[xxv]
